COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -After grants programs within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have been cut since January, one Jewish community in Colorado Springs is worried about the grants that fund their security.
“We would have to find other resources, other ways to keep our security at the very highest levels…They have been very helpful to us, and if they were cut, it would be hard,” said Jeff Ader, President of Temple Beit Torah.
Beit Torah is a temple near downtown. Ader tells us the community has collected about $500,000 over the last six years from the FEMA Nonprofit Security Grant Program. He says it has allowed the temple to go from having no security to providing safety in varied resources…
