Today Show’s Sheinelle Jones’ Husband Dies of Brain Cancer

With “profound sadness,” Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie announced the passing of Sheinelle Jones’ husband, Uche Ojeh. Ojeh, 45, died after a battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Guthrie, surrounded by her colleagues on the May 23rd episode, shared the news. Jones has been away from the show since December.

She and Ojeh, a business consultant, were college sweethearts and married for 17 years. They share three children.

“There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children,” Guthrie said on the show. “Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him.”

Jones acknowledged the announcement on Instagram, sharing the video clip with a message of gratitude for the love and support she has received. Her Today show family offered condolences in the comments, with heartfelt messages from Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager, and Dylan Dreyer.

Fans also shared an outpouring of sympathy and support on social media platforms, expressing their condolences and heartbreak for Jones and her family.
