IMPD makes 3 back-to-back homicide arrests within 72 hours

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives made three back-to-back homicide arrests within a 72-hour period.

On Thursday, May 15, around 11:30 a.m., IMPD Southeast District officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of South Madison Avenue to investigate a robbery. Officers arrived and found a man, later identified as Charles Collins, bleeding from his head and stomach. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) transported Collins to Eskenazi Hospital. IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. After investigating, detectives identified Corey Davis as a possible suspect.

Several days later, Collins died from his injuries at the hospital.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office provided assistance to determine the exact manner and cause of death…
