Church hosting inaugural event at Munn Park as alternative to ‘Pride in the Park’

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) – Over the next two Saturdays, Lakeland’s Munn Park will be home to events with live entertainment, food trucks and vendors but the intent behind those events differ.

Jonathan Allegato said he and others at Believers’ Fellowship, a church in Lakeland, want to be voices for the “biblical family.”

“The biblical family in today’s society is challenged, and we just wanted to be a voice for the biblical family, for what God has made and just celebrate them,” said Allegato.

Friday morning, he was packing up a truck ahead of “FamFest,” an inaugural event Saturday at Munn Park, hosted by Believers’ Fellowship.

Allegato said it is a “magnification of the family that God designed.”…
