State and local authorities warn public about text message scams

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — State and local authorities issued warnings about text message scams on Friday.

Thousands of Mississippians continue receiving text messages from unknown individuals, falsely claiming they owe toll road or towing fees.

Some text messages even threaten the suspension of driver’s licenses.
