Bristol County man accused of driving wrong way on highway, later involved in crash that killed officer, extradited to New Hampshire

Following a monthslong investigation, the suspect accused of driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 95 in Hampton, and later involved in a deadly crash in Massachusetts, has been arrested.

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the New Hampshire State Police obtained an extraditable arrest warrant charging 40-year-old Keoma Duarte, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, with two felony counts of reckless conduct and one misdemeanor count of disobeying an officer. On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, members of Troop A were notified by the Massachusetts State Police that Duarte had been taken into custody in Massachusetts pursuant to the outstanding arrest warrant. In the days following his arrest in Massachusetts, Duarte appeared in New Bedford District Court and ultimately waived extradition.

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, members of Troop A traveled to Bristol County Jail and House of Correction in Massachusetts and took Duarte into custody.
