SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Beaches are sunny this weekend. Thunderstorm activity is at a bare minimum. Scattered thunderstorms are a little more likely by mid-week. Winds are mainly out of the Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Rip currents risk is low, but the UV Index will be Extreme and will stay there through the Summer. You can get a burn in 5 to 10 minutes, so shade or sunscreen is essential, especially in the peak UV hours from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Boating conditions feature light winds from the Southwest at 5 to 10 knots, and a Light Chop with 1-foot seas.
