STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A slew of red foxes have been spotted on Staten Island recently, much to the delight of many residents.

Known for their bushy tails and quizzical expressions, foxes tend to be a more elusive population inhabiting the Island due to their nocturnal nature. So, why are we seeing a ton running around during the day lately?

Cliff Hagen, an environmentalist and Democratic candidate for the South Shore City Council seat, offered his perspective on the sudden uptick of fox sightings.
