New Trader Joe’s Set to Open Just North of Denver, Colorado

The north metro is finally getting another Trader Joe’s. The specialty grocer is building out a new location at 9350 Sheridan Boulevard in Westminster, at City Center Marketplace. Construction began earlier this year inside a former buybuy BABY store, which itself had replaced a Gordmans several years ago. No official opening date has been announced, but the site is actively being renovated and is expected to debut later this year.

Trader Joe’s will offer its usual assortment of private-label favorites, fresh produce, frozen meals, and beer and wine. The storefront’s interior is currently under construction, with fencing and contractor activity captured in recent photos. The store will occupy roughly 25,000 square feet, nestled between Golf Galaxy and Sierra Trading Post.

A Key Addition to North Metro Retail

This will be Trader Joe’s ninth location in Colorado, joining others in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Littleton, and Parker. For years, the closest option for Westminster residents was in Denver or Broomfield. The new store will fill a significant retail gap and brings new foot traffic to a center anchored by Best Buy, Ross, and Walmart…
