Local students rock the stage with the Beach Boys at Charlotte concert

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The AMP in Ballantyne was sold out Saturday night as thousands sang along to one of the most iconic groups in music history — the Beach Boys. From classics like “Be True to Your School” to “Little Surfer Girl” to “Kokomo,” the band played them all.

They didn’t take a break and made sure the crowd joined in. With a nice breeze, the weather was perfect for a group that hasn’t stopped touring since their formation in the early 60s. Led by original member Mike Love, they took the crowd on a musical journey through rock history.

John Stamos was there as well. He has been part of the entourage for many years. When he has time to break away from acting, he plays drums, percussion, and guitar. Stamos brings a spark of energy to the show and when playing guitar, constantly moves from one side of the stage to the other…
