The decision to commit to Pitt for Wyatt Villarreal goes back a long time, and it was a choice he made that has some history behind. Pitt’s second-year tight ends coach Jacob Bronowski has been able to make a dent into Texas for the Panthers in a short amount of time, and the Panthers’ assistant played a key role here. Villareal is a 6-5 and 220-pound tight end prospect out of Celina High School in Texas. He committed to the Panthers over the weekend, and made his announcement on Sunday afternoon.
“I’ve known Coach Bro for a minute now, because he was my first coach to ever come see and the first coach to pull me out of class was him, so it’s been a long journey,” Villarreal told Panther-Lair.com after his commitment. “It just felt right, and him being from Texas too, we kind of had a connection there.”
