Convicted child molester denied parole, deemed risk to public safety

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A 65-year-old convicted child molester was denied parole by the California Board of Parole Hearings, announced the Kern County District Attorney’s Office. Kenneth Lewis Faulkner Jr. continues to pose an unreasonable risk to public safety.

Faulkner, 65, was convicted on February 8, 2006, of felony child annoying/molesting and several misdemeanor counts for annoying other minors. He was sentenced to 25 years to life under California’s Three Strikes law.

On June 7, 2005, a 16-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop while on her phone. Faulkner, a registered sex offender, sat down a few seats away from the victim and started a conversation with her. The girl, though uncomfortable, felt forced to engage with the man in conversation…
