Fort Worth’s Oakmont Park to Celebrate Grand Opening of New $65,000 Playground on June 18

The ashes of yesteryear’s misfortunes are about to give birth to some summertime joy, as Fort Worth’s Oakmont Park unveils a spanking new playground destined to be the hot spot for kiddie high jinks. If you’ve got it penciled in, the grand opening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. come June 18, where popsicles and playgrounds await, no RSVPs necessary, according to the City of Fort Worth.

Witnessing a rather swift phoenix-rise from the ashes, the old play structure that faced a fiery demise back in February is now long gone, and its place now brims with two shiny sets of jungle gyms and slides, one catering to the 5-12 age bracket and the other reigned over by toddlers. And to tie the bow on this gift to the community, District 3 Councilmember Michael Crain will be there dishing out words that are probably short and certainly sweet, maybe both…
