Summer warmth spreads across Alaska, with showers across the Bering

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Clouds are slowly beginning to clear across Southcentral, as our low pressure shifts to the southeast and our ridge begins to influence our weather. Gone is the rain for many areas, with ample sunshine opportunities for the rest of this week. From Southcentral to the Slope, summer warmth looks to finally build across much of the state this week.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

The area of low pressure that kept rain in the forecast yesterday is shifting to our southeast. While it still lingers across coastal regions of Southcentral, we’ll keep rain in the forecast for Prince William Sound and through the Copper River Basin. Elsewhere, the rest of Southcentral will largely stay on the dry side. The only exception will be spotty to isolated storms that could fire later this afternoon through parts of the Mat-Su Valley…
