Closed downtown restaurant evicted for not paying its nearly $10,000-a-month rent

ANN ARBOR, MI — An eviction notice remained posted this week on the door of a shuttered bar and grill on Ann Arbor’s State Street this week, a sign of tough financial times, according to one of its founders.

Building property manager Oxford Property Management filed a complaint in court against Red Hawk, 316 S. State St., for non-payment of rent, dated April 28, in 15th District Court in Ann Arbor.

Oxford had notified Red Hawk in a letter dated April 15 that about $12,694 in rent was past due. Red Hawk’s rent was about $9,446 a month…
