AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Jarrod Robertson from Amarillo Student Crime Stoppers joined Today in Amarillo to talk about the third annual Race a Cop event.
High Noon on the Square returning for 30th season
Robertson says the event began in 2022 as a way to start a dialogue with the community about the street racing problem in the community. Now, the event will host over 10 different law enforcement agencies.
The event is set to take place at the Amarillo Dragway located at 12955 Burlington Rd. on June 14. Gates open at 6 p.m., with “Test N Tune” runs scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by roll racing from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at the door and kids under 12 get in free.
