String of Armed Robberies in Chicago’s Lakeview and Lincoln Park Neighborhoods Leaves Residents Shaken

Chicago’s North Side neighborhoods of Lakeview and Lincoln Park were struck by a rapid succession of armed robberies late Monday night, shaking the local community. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, four separate incidents occurred approximately within 30 minutes of each other, beginning around 11:30 p.m. In each instance, victims found themselves facing the threat of a gun as they walked along the quiet streets.

The ordeal began when a 47-year-old woman was robbed by two male attackers in the 3400 block of North Broadway, stated Chicago police. Shortly thereafter, a similar scenario played out for a 23-year-old woman in the 2800 block of North Pine Grove, where, in the company of their white SUV, fleeing men took her things at gunpoint, as detailed by the Chicago Sun-Times.

In a statement obtained by CBS News Chicago, police added detail to the timeline, highlighting that the third attack transpired near Roscoe and Halsted streets, and the final assault took place after midnight, leaving a 20-year-old man bereft of his belongings at Belden and Sheffield avenues…
