BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Amid growing anti-immigration protests across the country, Chief Greg Terry with the Bakersfield Police Department says BPD is prepared to deal with large crowds on the off chance of any happening within the city.
“We are prepared to facilitate people exercising their first amendment right. We take very seriously that responsibility to make sure that is done,” Chief Terry says.
Chief Terry adds although they are prepared, he does expect people to protest responsibly — meaning no acts of violence.
