Former detective returns to Stuart as chief, replacing Tumminelli in leading local force

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — There’s a new top cop in the city of Stuart.

The Stuart Police Department is set to welcome its new chief, Flamur Zenelovic, in a swearing-in ceremony at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lyric Theatre on Flagler Avenue. Zenelovic was selected by the city manager last month to lead the department.

Zenelovic’s career in law enforcement began in Stuart, where he served as a detective from 1995 to 2003. He then moved to the Rochester Police Department in New York to be closer to family, where he worked for nearly two decades.
