Former teacher sought dismissal of suicide charge in student relationship case

A former teacher accused of engaging sexual activities with a student and trying to help the victim take her own life tried to dismiss the suicide charge last week, but the hearing to decide the issue was canceled.

Palm Beach County court documents show on June 3, Damian Conti’s legal team submitted a motion to dismiss the charge of attempted assisted self-murder. In the argument, Conti’s legal representation states, it was not his idea for the victim to harm herself. Nor was it his idea to buy the rope and chain that the victim had purchased from Home Depot…
