The Estes Park Police Department wants to know what community members think about “Flock Safety Camera” technology and its potential use at major highway entrances/exits to Estes Park. Flock Cameras are license plate recognition cameras that help law enforcement agencies identify vehicles to support critical public safety operations like locating missing children or adults (AMBER or Silver Alerts), and locating fugitives, suspects of crimes and stolen vehicles. License plate data is stored in a secure system for 30 days, accessible only by authorized personnel. If Flock Cameras are installed in Estes Park in the future, they would add to a network of existing license plate recognition cameras positioned by other agencies along roadways surrounding the community…
