Hazy skies across parts of the state, with summer warmth ramping up

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – The summer heat is on the climb across the state, as temperatures continue to warm each day. While most of Mainland Alaska will remain on the dry side, some spotty to isolated thunderstorms can’t be ruled out for parts of the Interior and across Southcentral. The best chance for rain to close out the week will remain confined to the west coast, Aleutians and into the Southeast.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

Southcentral is expected to climb nicely into the 60s and 70s today, as our ridge of high pressure continues to lead to some of the warmest conditions in nearly 10 months. While there’s an outside chance Anchorage could hit 70 degrees today, the most likely locations will be Seward, the Mat-Su Valley and into the Copper River Basin. It’ll be a nice stretch of warmth that will stay with us to close out the week…
