BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Augusta District Attorney Jared T. Williams has sent out a letter saying that he wants to remove himself from an investigation into the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
According to District Attorney Williams, in May 2025, Sheriff Alfonso Williams issued an incident report that named himself and his office a victim accusing the county manager and board of commissioners of malpractice for not letting the Sheriff have control over his budget.
