Nashville mayor cites ICE crackdown, lack of support behind delayed LPR rollout

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — While police in Mt. Juliet are celebrating success in catching suspects with license plate readers, Nashville continues to hold off. The new reason: the ICE crackdown.

Nashville’s mayor said the hold-up boils down to two things: fear that LPRs will be used to arrest undocumented immigrants and a lack of Metro Council support.
