Police: K9 sniffs out cocaine; Rockford man in custody

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Mitchell Soun, 34, for delivering cocaine, according to court records.

On June 11, around 7 p.m., officers pulled over a silver Acura SUV at the intersection of East State and 3rd Streets that they suspect was involved in a shooting in Cherry Valley on May 14.

Authorities asked to search the car, but Soun told them no, court records show.

Officials then had a K9 sniff the vehicle. The dog alerted deputies that drugs were in the rear passenger side of the vehicle…
