Criminal proceedings have been halted against a man charged with stabbing 12 people at the Union Gospel Mission of Salem after his attorney raised concerns about the man’s mental ability to proceed.
Tony Latrell Williams, 42, of Bend, was arrested June 1 after 12 people were stabbed at the men’s shelter north of downtown. Eleven people were hospitalized, and all were expected to survive.
