Kent County seeks to demolish former hospital for new administration building

Kent County officials are rallying behind a plan to demolish, rather than renovate, the former Kent Community Hospital as part of an up to $130 million plan to construct a new county administration building.

County administrators want to move forward with demolishing the 103-year-old building at the Fuller Campus, a plan that also garnered support during a June 3 Board of Commissioners executive board meeting. Commissioners were also supportive of new conceptual designs for the building, said Al Vanderberg, Kent County administrator.
