Memorial set up on first anniversary of woman’s death on Horry County beach

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A memorial has been decorated in the spot where a woman was hit and killed by an Horry County police vehicle last year.

Sandra “Sandy” Schultz-Peters, 66, of Myrtle Beach, died in the June 13, 2024, incident. She was hit by Julian “Duke” Brown, who joined Horry County police in 1988 and retired last August.
