Cal Fire SCU reported the blaze just after 4 p.m. Wednesday in the area of eastbound Highway 152 and Dinosaur Point Road.

“Wind and terrain continue to play a significant role in the spread of the fire which is burning in the grass south of Hwy 152, towards the east and the San Luis Reservoir,” Cal Fire SCU said. “Firefighters continue to work hard and are making good progress.”

Just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, officials said the fire has been 65% contained so far, and that “crews will continue working through the night.” There is currently a lane closure in place.

California State Parks, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Highway Patrol and Valley Water are assisting at the scene.
