Corpus Christi Weekend Forecast: Dangerous Surf and 100-Degree Heat for Father’s Day

Corpus Christi, Texas – Swimmers along the South Texas coast should beware of dangerous rip currents today and through the Father’s Day weekend, especially near piers and jetties. High heat and strong surf are combining to make beach conditions riskier than usual.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, a moderate rip current risk remains in effect as of Thursday morning, with wave heights reaching 3 to 5 feet and southerly winds near 20 mph. Water temperatures are in the mid-80s, but the UV index is very high, making prolonged sun exposure hazardous without protection.
