SEATTLE — Mayor Bruce Harrell said Wednesday that Seattle will not cooperate with federal immigration raids, following reports that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement may deploy tactical units to the city.
Citing anonymous sources, NBC News reported that ICE plans to send Special Response Teams to five Democratic-led cities, including Seattle. The units, which are typically used in high-risk operations, often carry long guns and wear tactical vests. They have been seen in past raids in Los Angeles and at the home of entertainer Sean “Diddy” Combs.
