SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Fire crews swiftly responded to a fire in Springfield’s Gateway commercial area on Friday morning, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.
ESF authorities said that firefighters were alerted to a bark dust fire on the 3200 block of Gateway Street around 7:30 a.m. on June 13, with concerns that the flames might have spread to a building wall. Engine 5 from Pheasant Boulevard arrived in about six minutes and discovered smoke inside the commercial space, fire officials said.
