Tucson hospitals seeing more people coming in with contact burns

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Hospitals, first responders, and governments statewide are teaming up to tackle contact burns.

The summer heat can make those unassuming items as hot as a frying pan can send people to the hospital.

“You go out, you take the garbage bins out, you go out and get the newspaper, you go out to go to the mailbox,” said Tucson Fire Department Assistant Chief Barrett Baker. “If you do that at 2 p.m. instead of 7 a.m., you’re doing the hot feet dance very, very quickly.”…
