Albany, NY (WRGB) — A 26-year-old Albany man, Atiba Alfred, has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for possessing two illegal handguns after attacking a woman.
On March 21, 2024, Alfred was seen by an Albany Police patrol officer repeatedly striking a woman in the face near Ontario and Yates streets. When the officer attempted to apprehend him, Alfred fled and tried to enter a residence on Yates Street, injuring the officer’s hand by slamming a door shut.
