LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Construction crews are ready to begin phase two of their lane expansion project from Northwest 56th Street to Pleasant Dale, a seven mile-long stretch, by diverting traffic to different lanes Thursday night.
The project, which expands from four lanes to six, started in the spring of 2024 and the Nebraska Department of Transportation said it’s expected to be done by winter 2026. Modifications to traffic will begin Thursday night as well as a new posted speed limit going from 65 mph to 55 mph.
