Edmond Municipal Court lands a heavy hitter in law enforcement for a part-time post

EDMOND — After 20 years in the sometimes harsh limelight of big-city criminal prosecution, then a few years of “very happy” retirement, former Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater is heading toward the usually softer tones of suburban traffic court.

Prater, 65, will take a two-year, part-time post as an associate municipal judge in Edmond on July 1, the start of the new fiscal year.
