LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Summer-like heat will move into the South Plains starting Friday, with afternoon temperatures in the mid-90s. As we move into the weekend the temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 90s with partly cloudy skies.
Showers and storms are expected to return to the western and central South Plains communities Friday and Saturday evenings. Greater coverage is likely on Friday evening through Saturday morning for showers and storms.
Rain chances will drop by Sunday and continue low through the middle of next week.
As for the afternoon temperatures, it will remain in the 90s through Monday then edge to near or above the century mark by Tuesday and Wednesday.
It will remain humid for west Texas so that will amplify the ‘feel’ of the heat through the week…
