(KSTP) – UPDATE: Authorities say the suspect sought in connection with the shootings of state lawmakers Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman as 57-year-old Vance Boelter, sources confirmed to the Associated Press.
Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband died after they were shot at their home in Brooklyn Park.
Minnesota DFL Sen. John Hoffman in Champlin and his wife, Yvette, were also shot at home, allegedly by Boelter impersonating a police officer.
Brooklyn Park law enforcement is still on the hunt for Boelter, who allegedly drove a fake police car and carried a political manifesto in his vehicle, as well as a list of targeted Democratic lawmakers.
Members of the public should look out for Vance Boelter, but not approach him if spotted. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Documents obtained by KSTP show Boelter, whose current address is listed in Green Isle, Minnesota, was twice appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Council in 2016 under former Gov. Mark Dayton and again in 2019 under Gov. Tim Walz. His most recent term expired in January 2023…
