Mobile protest turns violent: Man punched by counter-protester with pro-ICE sign

Roy Miller was marching down Government Street with fellow protesters Saturday when the crowd parted around a jarring confrontation.

Two men, one holding a sign that appeared to support U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, exchanged words with Miller. Moments later, one of them allegedly punched him.

“I was walking along the street and there was a guy, he had a sign that said something along the likes that was pro-ICE and encouraging them to do their job,” said Miller, 25, of Mobile, holding bloody tissues to his nose as other demonstrators checked on him near the corner of Government and Claiborne streets…
