Upstate military recruits swear in on U.S. Army’s 250th birthday

SIX MILE, S.C. – On Saturday, the United States Army turns 250 years old. A few Army recruits in the Upstate celebrated with a special swearing-in ceremony.

“We had a thunderstorm right at the beginning of it. And very dramatic to see this thunder and lightning and all this stuff. And then the sun breaks through and we have the ceremony,” Tom Von Kaenel, CEO of the Semper Fi Barn said.
