Smyrna, TN – Smyrna’s Depot District came alive once again Saturday night, June 14, as the Simply Smyrna celebration welcomed residents and visitors for an evening filled with music, food, and family-friendly fun. The annual event, thoughtfully coordinated by Carpe Artista, drew a lively crowd to enjoy the vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors that have become a hallmark of this beloved community gathering.
This year’s celebration was especially poignant, marking the farewell performance of cultural ambassadors visiting from Estonia, Poland, and Puerto Rico. Hosted by Rutherford County’s own Cripple Creek Cloggers, the visiting dance troupes spent their time sharing traditional music and dance with thousands across the region—including stops at schools, libraries, and civic organizations.
The Cripple Creek Cloggers, known for their spirited performances and cultural outreach, trace their roots back to a 4-H project at Kittrell School, founded by local educator Steve Cates.
