OSPREY — As summer break starts, one Sarasota County Schools student is embarking on an international trip to Taiwan to study Chinese and Mandarin.
Sophia Haakman, a rising Pine View School junior, will take the trip on behalf of a National Security Language Initiative for Youth scholarship.
