SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released 11 new hymns on Thursday, marking 48 songs so far in the church’s new “Hymns — For Home and Church” hymnbook that have been gradually released over multiple months.
One of the new songs puts the familiar words to “The Lord is my Shepherd” to a new tune, the familiar Christmas song, “Still, Still, Still” is now in the holiday section of the new book, and the song “Oh, How Great Is Our Joy” currently in the Spanish hymnbook as “Placentero nos es Trabajar” has been translated for the new book.
There are also multiple new children’s songs about Christ, pioneers, the Book of Mormon and the sabbath day…
