Conway woman, former jail officer charged with 14 counts of tax fraud, evasion

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Conway woman and former Horry County jail employee has been charged with several counts of tax fraud that allegedly started back in 2018, according to arrest warrants from the South Carolina Department of Revenue.

Taimar Thomas, 42, was charged with seven counts of making false or fraudulent tax returns and seven counts of tax evasion.

Thomas is accused of preparing state individual income tax returns for tax years 2017-2023 using fraudulent deductions and business expenses, the Department of Revenue said. The taxpayers were unaware and did not consent to the deductions and expenses…
