Washington Park Pool temporarily closed for maintenance

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Just one week ago, Roanoke city leaders cut the ribbon, opening up the Washington Park Pool, and on Friday, it had to close to conduct a full safety assessment and necessary maintenance. This follows what it describes as after-hours activity at the facility.

Locals were not notified of the announcement initially, and some had to learn the hard way.

“I’m disappointed because there isn’t any place to say that it’s closed,” Adam Maxwell, a Roanoke resident, said. “We had to come here to realize it’s closed and it’s just a waste of trip at that point.”…
