North Florida Weather Alert: Storms Likely After 2 p.m. Monday in Tallahassee

Tallahassee, FL – A pattern of afternoon storms and high heat will settle over the capital city this week, bringing repeated chances for disruptive weather that could impact travel and outdoor plans leading up to the Juneteenth holiday.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday carries a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, expected to develop after 2 p.m. Drivers along I-10 and Thomasville Road should watch for rapidly changing conditions during the afternoon commute. Before the storms arrive, conditions will be mostly sunny, with the high temperature climbing to near 91 degrees. However, with elevated humidity, the heat index could reach as high as 100, posing a health risk for those outdoors.
