AUSTIN (KXAN)— There’s a new way to get your groceries delivered—as long as you live in Austin’s Mueller neighborhood. H-E-B launched a pilot program with small, autonomous vehicles handling certain orders within a one mile radius.
To get a visit from one of the little robots, the order has to go through Favor, a delivery app. You have to order between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., according to a sign outside H-E-B’s Mueller store. Deliveries are limited to ten small items.
The robots come from an Austin-based company called Avride. Some restaurants started using the robots to deliver in the Mueller neighborhood in May 2024 as a way to cut costs…
