AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Last Monday, the Amarillo Independent School District board of trustees looked at the preliminary report on the proposed 2025-2026 school district budget and employee compensation plan.

The budget that was presented last Monday did not have House Bill 2, SB 4, or SB 23 factored into it.
“House Bill 2 just recently was signed by the governor, that changes everything in the funding mechanism, so revenue changes and we don’t really know all the details on that, so it will change, as we move forward. But we are feeling good about teacher raises and making every students successful,” said Doyle Corder, Amarillo ISD board president.
