Derecho assistance program ends after restoring 292 households

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The PATCH program has ended after providing critical home repair and financial assistance to residents of Cedar Rapids affected by the derecho on August 10, 2020.

The derecho damaged homes with record-breaking winds that tested the strength of the Cedar Rapids community. The program was created by community partners to provide support in repairing the affected homes.

$3,442,000 was donated through the support of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, City of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, and United Way of East Central Iowa…
