Second arrest made in May shooting at Beaufort apartment complex

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCSC) – A second man is facing charges in a shooting incident that sparked a push for change in a Beaufort apartment complex.

Cleve Rudolph White, 20, of Hardeeville is charged with possession of a machine gun, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, attempting to sell a machine gun and possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs.

White was arrested Monday for his alleged involvement in the May 28 shooting at the Garden Oaks Apartments, which left two injured.

Gasnel O’Bryan Miller, 35, of Beaufort, was arrested first in connection to this incident June 3 and charged with firing a weapon into an occupied vehicle, aggravated breach of peace, pointing and presenting a weapon at a person, firing a weapon in city limits and possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs, according to a release from Beaufort Police. He was granted bond and has been released from the Beaufort County Detention Center.

Officers were dispatched the evening of that incident to the apartment complex at 2000 Salem Road for reports of shots fired…
